Samuel Peacock studied Fine Arts at Coventry University in 1995. He has always been interested in the landscape and contemporary issues surrounding the ever changing face of it. His love of working with steel and combining this with heat and organic materials began when he started out as a sculptor working with scrap motor vehicles, working directly onto the surfaces of bonnets and doors. He began working on flat landscapes in the early 2000's, gaining gallery representation and exhibition opportunities at art fairs. Peacock's influence is directly taken from the coast, marrying the colours of nature and the countryside with the industrial remnants of a time passed. He works with raw materials such as coffee and industrial oils to great effect, heating these materials directly onto the steel surfaces to create images of great landscapes and coastal paths. His largest commissioned work to date was for Novotel Hotels in 2016 at the Canary Wharf HQ, the artwork spanned 30 meters over 2 floors. Recent solo shows have been in-depth visual studies into Britain's transformative energy industry, leaning into the old and looking forward to the new.
