The silver teapot and caddy spoon are from the Old World. There is no China tea, because it’s all been thrown into Boston harbour! Instead, you have a choice of jasmine or dried hibiscus flowers, both of which have been introduced to North America by settlers (hibiscus is used to make a red drink on Juneteenth). There are thirteen jasmine flowers to represent the circle of thirteen stars on the original flag, while the red and white ribbons hint at the stripes. Sold
