Jessica Brown has exhibited with Quantum Contemporary Art since 1997. She was born in 1971 and lives in Devon. Her craftmanship and skill are originally founded on the study of art and art history while staying as a child with her grandfather in Rome (where he was based with UNESCO.) She received art tuition from Sam Rabin RA in 1988-1989 before going to Durham University from which she graduated in 1992. She has painted professionally since then. She was Artist in Residence in 1994 at the British Hills Cultural Centre in Japan. She now focuses on still life and between 2000-2008 we held six sell-out solo shows for her in London’s renowned Cork Street in Mayfair.
Since 2009, we have exhibited her paintings at major art fairs all over the world including Art London, Glasgow Art Fair, Art Expo in New York, London Art Fair in Islington, Singapore, Hong Kong, Chicago, San Francisco and Brussels. The Evening Standard said of her exquisite paintings “She’s revitalising a moribund genre with her zesty, original work.”
Her work is in the collections of the Duke of Bedford, Dede Brooks (ex CEO of Sotheby’s New York), Lord Salisbury and the late George Michael.
The dimensions of all the paintings below include the frame; Jessica’s frames are made by her father Rupert, a master cabinet maker. In 2016, Quantum published a book celebrating 20 years of exclusively representing Jessica. The book catalogues 20 years of her work, including detailed information about life in her Dartmoor studio and photographs of some of her worldwide collectors.
