Ana Kapor is a Serbian-born Italian painter based in Rome.
Following in her father’s footsteps she started painting at a young age and continued her studies at Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome.
Immediately after graduating she was spotted and selected by some important Italian galleries. She soon started to exhibit with galleries Polittico, (Rome), Antonia Jannone (Milan), Galleria dell’Incisione (Brescia), Davico (Turin), Falteri (Florence), Conchiglia (Capri), Forni (Bologna), having numerous solo shows.
In 2011 she was invited to participate at the Biennale di Venezia and the following year she had an exhibition at Museo della Civiltà Romana in Rome.
She has exhibited in many group exhibitions in Italy, France, Portugal, Morocco, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Turkey, Egypt, Serbia, USA and the United Kingdom.
Quantum Art have represented Ana since May 2019.
“From the very beginning, art was part of my childhood.
My first toys were not dolls, but my father’s brushes. I still remember all the time spent in the halls of European museums, visited during the many trips with my family.
I never had any doubts about what I would do when I grew up. Painting has always been the only thing that really interested me. I started painting as a child beside my father – and I have never stopped!
My art, deeply influenced by the Byzantine tradition of my country of origin, is closely connected with the early Italian Renaissance, but with a strong metaphysical influence.
I have always been fascinated by the light and the white stone of the Mediterranean, and I found all of this in Rome, where I live.”
