Vanessa Whitehouse has exhibited with Quantum Contemporary Art since 2007. Born in 1964, she has painted all her life; taught initially by her grandfather Alfred Jobson Brown, a well-known artist of his time who worked with the Bloomsbury Group in Sussex. Vanessa paints the beautiful trees and orchards of her native Kent – ‘the garden of England’. She has perfected a technique of painting directly on to sheets of Perspex which are then encased in an outer Perspex frame. Incorporating flecks of gold leaf and crystals into her paintings means that they glisten and sparkle as the light hits them. Quantum exhibits her work at art fairs in London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seattle, Chicago, Toronto and San Francisco. In 2012 her work was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
