Jo Fox has exhibited with Quantum Contemporary Art since 2003. She studied Theatre Design at Exeter and Croydon Colleges of Art. She has exhibited at the Royal Academy, The Battersea Contemporary Art Fairs, ArtLondon, London Art Fair, Islington as well as others in Glasgow, Brussels, Toronto, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong. Combining collage and paint, Jo Fox’s work is characterised by its narrative quality, the work combines collective fragments of textured paper which are painted enhanced and layered accordingly. Jo’s subtle use of colour evokes a timelessness and clarity in her contemporary paintings. She says of her painting ” The work builds into sections, resulting in the use of blocks or squares to divide or contain areas of the painting. Using materials such as fine plaster and paper of varying thickness, the layers are built up.” In 2009 Jo won second prize in the prestigious Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Gallery in London. Her work has also been selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
