Nicholas Middleton was born in 1975 and has exhibited with Quantum Contemporary Art since 1998. After studying at the London Guildhall University he trained at the Winchester School of Art, graduating in 1997. Since then he has exhibited at the Byam Shaw and at fairs with Quantum in London, New York and Glasgow. In addition he has completed several large commissions for the Royal Carribean Cruise Line. His work has been selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2000,2001,2002, 2005, 207 and 2008. He portraits were selected for the prestigious BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery in 2004 and 2005.He says he is " primarily influenced by the experience of the urban environment as a visual arena where unexpected juxtapositions occur. "
