Massimiliano Longo

Massimiliano Longo has exhibited with Quantum Contemporary Art since 2008. He was born in Venice in 1954. Both his parents were artists - his mother still exhibits at the age of 89. He qualified at the Venetian Academy of Fine Art in 1982. In his early years he studied in the studio of master artist Pietro Annigoni ( 1910-1988 ) who painted a memorable portrait of HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1969 ( which now hangs in a livery company hall in the City of London ). He has worked with many of the main Italian publishing houses creating artwork for book covers. His work is principally portraiture, uniting traditional styles with contemporary composition and angles. In all his work he adheres to the Venetian Realism tradition - the "Verismo Veneto." We have taken Massimiliano's paintings to fairs in London, Glasgow, New York, Brussels, Amsterdam and Toronto.
