Hazel Mountford has exhibited with Quantum Contemporary Art since 2007. She got her art degree from the Wimbledon School of Art in 1993. Since then she has worked as a technical artist on film, video and theatre productions. She has also worked professionally as a muralist for interior designers and private clients. Recently Hazel has been working on a series of animal paintings, on gesso on irregularly-shaped wood panels. She says : " My paintings have a sense of the theatrical. My intention is to tell a story, creating characters, giving them a context for their existence. I strive to give them a sense of presence and vitality, they are not static, movement is either actual or imminent. " In 2009 Hazel won the prestigious BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year award. We have exhibited Hazel's work in Glasgow, London and Toronto. |
