Hazel Mountford

Hazel Mountford has exhibited with Quantum Contemporary Art since 2007. She got her art degree from the Wimbledon School of Art in 1993. Since then she has worked as a technical artist on film, video and theatre productions. She has also worked professionally as a muralist for interior designers and private clients. Recently Hazel has been working on a series of animal paintings, on gesso on irregularly-shaped wood panels. She says : " My paintings have a sense of the theatrical. My intention is to tell a story, creating characters, giving them a context for their existence. I strive to give them a sense of presence and vitality, they are not static, movement is either actual or imminent. " In 2009 Hazel won the prestigious BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year award. We have exhibited Hazel's work in Glasgow, London and Toronto.
